SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The No. 3 seed UC Irvine men’s soccer team (15-6) defeated No. 1 seed UC Santa Barbara 4-1 Saturday night in the championship match of the Big West Tournament at Harder Stadium.

(10/11/2009) South Coast Bayern is privileged to acknowledge the Shamrock Rovers Football Club as a South Coast Bayern partner and friend. The Shamrock Rovers are the most successful club in the history of Irish footballing. Every year that South Coast Bayern has taken part in the Northern Ireland Milk Cup, we have been honored by the hospitality of the Shamrock Rovers who have hosted us in the few days prior to each of the Milk Cup starts. A special thanks to Robbie Goggins for all his efforts and kindness. Our friendship with the Shamrock Rovers runs deep and we are proud of our relationship with such a prestigious club.

(7/26/2009) South Coast Bayern Boy's U17 squad takes part in the opening ceremonies for the 2009 Northern Ireland Milk Cup. The Milk Cup is one of the most prestigious youth soccer tournaments in the world. With 50 teams from all over the globe taking part, our boys are highly motivated to make us proud. Competition gets under way tomorrow with SC Bayern's first pool match against Watford. Follow the action including daily blog updates from Ireland on our Milk Cup page.

Bayern Boys Take Bayern Cup Championship

Back to Back Tournament Winners

(7/8/2009) Bayern Boys U8 win their second consecutive tournament in back to back weekends. Playing in the Irvine Summer Classic the boys fought hard to earn victories against Legends, West Coast and RSF. The following weekend playing in the Bayern Cup the boys continued their winning way by going undefeated and keeping one of our own Bayern Cup trophies. Great job boys!

G95 Red Makes Run to Finals

Finalists in 2009 Irvine Summer Classic

(6/21/09) The recently formed G95 Red team showed their talents off in the 2009 Irvine Summer Classic over the weekend. Their tournament run included some impressive Saturday victories against Poway Vaqueros (1-0) and FC Murietta (2-0). They continued to roll on Sunday morning with a commanding 3-0 victory against Scripps United before falling just short in the 0-1 Championship loss to Newport Mesa. The gritty and determined U13 bunch have now played in TWO tournament championships since their recent inception as Madison so proudly points out (front right). Congratulations Again Ladies!

Congratulations to the Bayern B99 team for taking the Boys U9 Championship at this year’s Irvine Memorial Classic. The team racked up some impressive wins on their way to the crown. The championship is the first of many to come for the talented B99 team. Good job men!

Last Week: 1 SO CAL BLUES: The Blues wrap up the 2009 CSL fall season with their six-straight week atop this list. Their record of 123-68-53 comes from play in some of the highest levels available.

Last Week: 2 UNITED FC: Wrapped up play last week with a 14-3-3 record, which was the best in the county. BU-17s also won League Cup. They're 221-129-68 overall, and at high levels, as well.

Last Week: 4 LAGUNA NIGUEL SC: Their final weekend of CSL play saw them got 7-2-3. More than half of its teams play at the Bronze level, but as a whole, the club won twice as many games as it lost this year.

Last Week: 3 WEST COAST FC: It was a nother big fall for West Coast, which included a Far West Regional championship (BU-14s). The South County giant finished 223-169-118 overall.

Last Week: 5 LAGUNA HILLS ECLIPSE: A terrific fall, going 94-60-37 with only three Bronze teams (all youngers) out of its 15, total. Also had a pair f unbeatens.

Last Week: 7 FULLERTON RANGERS: Their Gold GU-17s and GU-16s both reached the League Cup final of their divisions. A 162-win season against 121 losses and 67 ties.

Last Week: 8 SOUTH COAST BAYERN: A very steady fall for Bayern, finishing with a 94-64-31 record.

Last Week: 6 CONQUISTAMERICA: The small club expanded a bit in '09 and inished with an awesome record of 81-25-14. Their silver teams finished 43-7 and BU-15 SSs were undefeated.

Last Week: 9 SLAMMERS FC: Their SES GU-19s shocked everyone with a huge League Cup victory over a premier team, capping a great fall for the club's olders.

Last Week: 10 CHELSEA SC: A 141-110-57 record counts for a nice fall campaign that included a 13-0-1 GU-12 Bronze team.

OC's 50 Most Influential: Nos. 11-15 on XK Orange County Soccer News

August of this year the news portal for Orange County soccer www.xkorangecounty.com announced an article which recognized their experienced opinions about who were the "OC’s Top 50 Most Influential People" over the years in area OC soccer.
The South Coast Bayern is proud to announce that the SCB Director of Coaching, Vishtasp Farhadi, is recognized as one of the most influential people in youth soccer.

Coach V is known for taking his teams to the highest of levels. This summer Farhadi took his BU-17s to the prestigous Milk Cup in Northern Ireland, and finished sixth overall, reaching the quarterfinals in the Premier Division among some very tough international competition. SC Bayern’s only two defeats in the tournament (against three wins) came via PKs.

His squad was the only American club team invited to the annual event which includes professional and academy teams from all over the world. It was Bayern’s third straight year in the Milk Cup, and in 2008, Coach V’s team reached the Cup finals and fell to Manchester United. It was the first time a U.S. had gone that far.

Farhadi also has clocked time as an assistant coach on the Laguna Hills High girls’ varsity. However Farhadi and SC Bayern certaily are making strides to be recognized on a national--and international level. The club has recently opened up its own offices.

2009 Milk Cup News

SC Bayern Finishes 6th Overall

SC Bayern lost in Penalty Kicks 4-3 to Cherry Orchard in their final Milk Cup game. The match was tied after regulation 1-1. The loss places SC Bayern in 6th place overall for the tournament. A very respectable finish for an international tournament of this caliber. Well done.
